The Top 10 Sates for Paid Homeowners Hail Claims
According to the Insurance Journal, a leading source for the latest business news for the property & casualty insurance industry, new stats show the top 10 states for paid hail claims in 2017. In an effort to educate consumers on hail damage, a leading insurance company – State Farm, collected claims data from it’s customers. In 2017 the data showed there was more than $3 billion paid losses for hail damage in 2017.
From that data, State Farm listed the top 10 states for hail damage in the United States. Here is the list in order of severity.
We can hear you asking the obvious question, “why should I care?” The fact remains that Illinois and Missouri are in the top 5 of this list, which means there could very well be damage on your home or business that could result in paid hail claims. We often think of hail damage to your roof, which is true, but we often see damage to siding, windows, gutters, fascia, decks and trim.
Here at SIMMCO, we’ve seen our fair share of hail claims. We have been able to help customers in both Illinois and Missouri with damage caused by hail. From a full roof replacement to repairs, the pros at SIMMCO can handle it all. Many insurance companies have limits on how long a claim can be made on a hail event, so it is important to have a professional take a look at it as soon as possible.
The importance of partnering with a contractor that is honest can’t be overstated. Many contractors will urge homeowners to file a claim even when their home hasn’t sustained damage. At SIMMCO, our team of project managers are dedicated to dealing honestly with all of our customers. Our team is made up of former insurance adjusters or those trained by former adjusters, which means we have an eye for what is claim worthy and what isn’t.
